What you see as imperfection others around you see as unique or as an opportunity. Know that you are worthy - give yourself unconditional love because you are beautiful and you deserve it.

My dearest readers, I am sorry for taking such a long time to update my website. I have been busy trying to balance being a mom, teacher, author and speaker. I think I have things under control now. My two daughters are now settled in school, one is in kindergarten and the other is in third grade. I am amazed by how fast they are growing up… I love them so much. As you can imagine I am very protective of all three children for I know first hand all the potential dangers that are out there. My newest goal is to update my website at least once per month. I have many exciting things to share with you. I will start by saying thanks to all who have posted reviews, sent letters and emails to me. Within the past four months I have played the role of author, business manager and speaker. The role I am enjoying the most has been speaker. When I am in front of scores of groups I am happy because I speak from the heart about topics that I am passionate about. I have been praised by clients and attendees for my honesty and great story-telling skills. My entire being comes alive within the first five minutes of the 1 ½ hours of the speaking engagement. I look forward to the additional 1 hour questioning segment because it is where I interact with the attendees. I feel a unique connection with my audience when I am answering questions which are spontaneous; I think it is because I know that my answer can and will make a positive difference in someone’s life. I embrace and savor the moments of each event I attend because I know I am exceptionally blessed to be doing something that makes my heart and soul smile. Throughout my journey I have questioned a thousand times over, why me? If some people live long enough and are lucky they might get an answer . The overwhelming responses from my readers and audiences have made me take a breath and I say to myself - This is why …I needed to make this difficult journey so that I would rise above it with strength and courage in order to gain a loud voice …to use my story - our story - to make a difference …to inspire...

Today's book signing event at the Written Words bookstore in Shelton, CT went well. I was so excited to hear from my audience that I spoke eloquently and with passion. I was absolutely ecstatic that fifty percent of the audience bought my book. Quite a few of the buyers told me that my presentation of the book intrigued them. My speaking and reading intrigued my potential readers who eagerly surrounded me, so as to buy my book and get my signature. It all seemed so surreal, I am still getting use to people wanting me to autograph their new book, A Child's Voice. A lady whose name was Anne, bought the book and started to read it immediately and she informed me that she was part of a book club. After reading a few pages, she might recommend it to her book club, as so far she was impressed with my writing. I must thank Dorothy of Written Words bookstore for this great opportunity, "Local Author Day", and hope to do many more. http://www.writtenwordsbookstore.com

This weekend trip was a long journey but can not be compared to my life journey. I am here still recovering from my extended weekend in Maryland since July 03, 2008. It was a long trip for my husband to drive and my three children were excited for the adventure and especially, to have breakfast along the way at a diner. The highlight for them was the tour of the Hershey’s factory in Hershey, PA. We also went into Washington, D.C., during the day of July 4th and watched the parade and later watched fireworks from our hotel in Gaithersburg, MD. My main event though was on July 5th where I met Ambassador Anthony Johnson from the Jamaican Embassy of Washington, D.C. and I gave an eloquent and passionate speech regarding Merl Grove’s positive impact on me while I enter its gate for five years. There were many Alumni from Merl Grove who mostly graduated from the 1970’s and I felt as though I was amongst “big sisters”. It was great to meet all of these alumni as I was one of them despite our graduating year; we were able to relate on a level where I felt like though I just met some of them on that night, I felt like I have known all of them for my whole life. I saw many familiar faces such as Principal Ms. Amy Allen, and my literature teacher Ms. Paulette Parkinson who taught me to read with great expressions and appreciate Shakespeare’s writings. I would also like to take the time to thank the president Andrea Mc Donald-Black and board of directors of the Merl Grove NEAC Chapter who gave me this opportunity to speak at the event. Ladies, thank you for greeting me with enthusiasm and great support and truly making me feel at home. Fellow Alumni, we will forever be bonded together as “sisters” because of our “mother” Muriel Lynch, founder of Merl Grove High School. Getting Closer

I am ecstatic because the designers have finally sent me the pictures of several images to choose for the book cover, “A Child's Voice”. There were two images that I loved; however there was a particular one that made my heart skip a beat and gave me chills. I immediately knew that was the perfect book cover. The designer will layout the book title, subtitle, etc. I am so excited it is beyond words. Now the wait…but I must say, Wow, I am getting closer …
